Photography Tutoring

Tutoring

My photographic style has developed over 30 years of practical experience. Coupled with over 20 years of instructing/tutoring experience I feel I am well placed to offer my simple rules for capturing images to others and to assist them develop as photographers.

Practical photography will be a key part of all sessions with a focus on composition and the messages photographers wish to convey with their pictures whether with family portraits, creative abstracts, landscapes or still life for example.

“Art is Everywhere, we just need to go out into Nature and find it.” Dr James Fox.

From Liane, Sheffield, Sept 2015 – “I had an excellent day at one of Simon’s photography workshops in Castleton. He is a really knowledgeable trainer who demonstrates by example with his own lovely photos, and was extremely helpful and patient in showing me how to use my camera to much better effect – in fact I am delighted to say I need no longer use the ‘Auto’ function on it! Great progress indeed!”

From Joyce, Axholme Camera Club, May 2016 – “Many thanks for such a refreshing presentation last night. Most presenters carry around mountains of equipment and take trillions of pictures, (I am prone to exaggeration), neither of which I have ever aspired to. As a consequence, I have always thought I will be a ‘snapper’ rather than a ‘photographer’. However, you have given to me belief in myself – for that I thank you very much, because seeing your pictures makes me realise that talent means more than ‘stuff’……”
